What Clients Say

Words from the people we serve.

Testimonials are shared with client consent. No clinical details are included.

Coming to Haven was the first step I needed. I was nervous about starting therapy but the intake process was gentle and the match to my therapist felt right from the first session. I've recommended this practice to three people I care about.

I tried two other therapists before Haven. The difference is that my therapist here actually has a specialty that matches what I was dealing with. The quality of the sessions is completely different when the clinician knows your area deeply.

My partner and I were at a crossroads. Dr. Brown's couples work helped us both feel heard and gave us concrete tools - not just a space to vent at each other. We're in a different place now, a much better one.

Common Questions

What you might be wondering before you reach out.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first session is called an intake or assessment session. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, your personal history, and what you're hoping to get from therapy. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and share any concerns. By the end, you'll have a sense of whether the fit feels right and a preliminary direction for your work together.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Aetna, United Healthcare, and Cigna. We also offer a self-pay rate and can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan covers it. Call us and we'll verify your mental health benefit before your first appointment.

Is telehealth therapy as effective as in-person?

For most presentations, yes - research on telehealth therapy for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns shows equivalent outcomes to in-person treatment when conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Our telehealth sessions use a dedicated encrypted system, not standard video calling. We offer the choice based on your preference and clinical suitability.

How long will I be in therapy?

It depends entirely on your goals and the nature of what you're working on. Solution-focused work on a specific concern might resolve in 8–12 sessions. Longer-term personal growth work, complex trauma, or relationship patterns typically benefit from extended engagement of 6 months to a year or more. Your therapist will discuss a realistic timeline at your second session after completing their assessment.
